Ain't Plain Country
These songs ain't plain!

Ain't Plain Country - the first album Bob Grez has put together is steeped with surprises and new sounds within the framework of traditional country. The thirteen original tunes and lyrics have that tendency to linger in your head for days.

Ain't Plain Country explores the many facets of good country music from the traditional down home flavors (even includes a classic country waltz) all the way to the upbeat drive of modern country. The songs have lyrics that penetrate deep into the liking. This album has fun songs, songs with a message, and songs laced with the off the cuff tongue in cheek humor that Bob Grez easily wields.

Bob Grez touches things that we all take for granted and cements them into words complimented by a melody that will be riveted into your brain by unforgettable guitar licks. The lyrics are based on a sophisticated understanding of human relationships, light years beyond the adolescent hand-holding stage, but does not forget the tenderness that we not only well remember but strive to achieve again and again.

Still A Cowboy
Bob is STILL a Cowboy

The second Bob Grez album shows that country and western spans all the way to country pop and pop rock. 13 new original songs show that Bob Grez has somethin' to say, and that he does it well. From traditional and the well rooted to the open creative expanses within modern rock, Bob explores and finds a pot of gold in songs. This CD presents country with haunting country western flavors that transcend toward the best of modern country vocals -- easily playable on adult contemporary stations.

Real sweet original lyrics and music shows that Bob Grez loves songwriting. Still A Cowboy is a sensitive and yet cocky album that features original Bob Grez songs in a Modern Country Western case.

His songs show realistic and idealistic images of relationships, touches of reminiscing with a wand of gold, and even explores romance with a fine country pop rock lullaby.

This second album steps up the ante for Bob Grez in country music because it shows that Bob can handle songs like a master. His songwriting is tight and beautiful.

His instruments
Bob's favorite guitar - 1978 Yamaha FG350W

His first guitar was a 30 dollar department store special. The action was so high and so hard on the fretboard that Bob's fingers would be literally bleeding drops of blood onto to the floor after 3 or 4 hours.

Bob played an inexpensive Yamaha FG165 acoustic while in college. Then he bought an FG350W in Denver Colorado in 1978. This is the guitar on which he has composed most of his songs. It is pictured on the right.

He now also plays on a Guild cutaway acoustic and has recorded many songs from his coming album on this beauty. It has a real sweet sound.
